Amon Ssebakumba
Amon Ssebakumba is 14 years old and is in Primary Grade 4 at Kids Care
School. He loves the color yellow and his favorite subject is English. Amon loves playing soccer and he dreams to become a pilot after school. Amon's parents divorced when he was one year old and he was left with his alcoholic father. He was malnourished and never went to school. His father left him in the house alone to go drink. Amon's feet were eaten up by jiggers. The community got concerned for Amon's welfare and contacted Timothy home to rescue him.


Edris Akankwasa
Edris Akankwasa is 7 years old and is in Primary
Grade 1 at Kids Care School. He loves the color
yellow and his favorite subject is Math. He likes
bananas and he is great at soccer. He wants to
become a footballer after school. Edris lived with
his mother on a farm and his father is unknown
since his mother had multiple partners. They had
no permanent house, but lived in temporary set up
structures and moved from place to place in the bush.
They could at times survive on cow’s blood as food.
Edris had never attended school before he was
referred to Timothy Home. It was upon such
conditions that the probation office forwarded
Edris to Timothy Home for safe custody
and education.

Shellah Mukisa
Shellah Mukisa is 12 years old and is in Grade 5.
Mukisa lost his mum and he has never met his father. He joined Timothy Home from Kyotera District. Shellah was living with his maternal grand parents who are eldery and could not support his growth. They could face difficulties accessing food, clothing, medical care, and education. To ensure proper support,he was brought to Timothy Home by a community social worker for further management. His favorite color is black, and his favorite food is rice. Science is his strongest subject, and he dreams of becoming a farmer after completing his studies.

Madrine Nakavuma
Madrine Nakavuma is 12 years old. She is in Primary Grade 4 at Kids Care School. She likes playing handball, her favorite subject is Math, and she wants to become a nurse after school. Her favorite food is rice and chicken. Madrine's father used to look after cattle before he got his backbone broken. He is too old to have a young child like Madrine. Madrine comes from a family of 12 children, all of school going age. However, two older girls are working as maids in people's homes. Madrine too had been taken to work as a maid. At home, Madrine's family lived in a semi-permanent house in the bush. None of the siblings went to school because of lack of school fees and it is a very long distance from home to school, so she had dropped out. She was therefore referred to Timothy home for proper welfare and education.

Sandrah Nkamushaba
Sandrah Nkamushaba is 13 years old and is in Grade 7. She lost her mother, and the whereabouts of her father are unknown. After her mother’s death, Sandrah’s survival was uncertain, as no one in the family could take her in due to the unknown location of her father. She has three other siblings. A community probation officer brought Sandrah to Timothy Home, while her siblings were placed in other children’s homes for care. Sandrah’s favorite color is pink, and her favorite meal is rice and chicken. Her best subjects are Science and English, and she dreams of becoming a doctor after completing her studies.

Benjamin Nimulungi
Benjamin Nimulungi is 10 years old and is in Grade 5. He comes from Nakitembe Village in Gomba District. He lives at Timothy Home with his brother, Andrew. Previously, they lived with their mother at their uncle’s home and helped on a neighbor’s farm, where they earned milk. Benjamin’s father passed away when he was two years old. He used to walk three kilometers to the nearest school. He moved to Timothy Home when his uncle was no longer able to care for their mother and her children. Benjamin and his brother Andrew were placed at Timothy Home to receive further support.
His favorite color is blue, his favorite food is rice, and his best subject is Mathematics. He dreams of becoming a pilot after completing his studies.

Andrew Akoragye
Andrew Akoragye is13 years old and is in Grade 6. He comes from Nakitembe Village in Gomba District. He lives at Timothy Home with his brother, Benjamin. Previously, they lived with their mother at their uncle’s home and helped on a neighbor’s farm, where they earned milk. Andrew’s father passed away when he was two years old. He used to walk three kilometers to the nearest school. He moved to Timothy Home when his uncle was unable to care for their mother and her children. Andrew and his brother Benjamin were placed at Timothy Home to receive further support. His favorite color is red, his favorite food is banana, and his best subject is Mathematics. He aspires to become a lawyer after completing his studies.

Ezra Nuwamanya
Ezra Nuwamanya is 13 years old and is in Grade 6. He comes from Rwawebwa Village in Gomba District. His father passed away when he was five, and since then, he has been living with his mother and four siblings. When Ezra arrived at Timothy Home, he was not attending school regularly before because he and his siblings used to go to school in rotation. To help his family, he also worked with his mother in the nearby garden to earn food. His favorite color is yellow, his best subject is Mathematics. He wants to be a pilot after completing his studies.

Hadad Matovu
Hadad Matovu is 7 years old and is in Grade 2. His favorite color is green, and his favorite food is bananas. Reading is his strongest subject, and he dreams of becoming a pilot after completing his studies. He, along with his siblings Juliet Nabbata and Shadia Nandawula, joined Timothy Home from Kyotera. Both of their parents are very ill, suffering from chronic HIV/AIDS. As a result, the three children face difficulties accessing food, clothing, medical care, and education. There is a possibility that their parents may be sent to distant family members for care, leaving Juliet, the eldest sibling, in the care of the family. To ensure proper support, the three children were brought to Timothy Home by a community social worker for further assistance and management.

Juliet Nabbata
Juliet Nabbata is 13 years old and is in Grade 4. Her favorite color is orange, and her favorite foods are rice and meat. Math is her strongest subject, and she dreams of becoming a doctor after completing her studies. She, along with her siblings Hadad Matovu and Shadia Nandawula, joined Timothy from Kyotera. Both of their parents are very ill, suffering from chronic HIV/AIDS. As a result, the three children face difficulties accessing food, clothing, medical care, and education. There is a possibility that their parents might be sent to distant family members for care, leaving Juliet and her siblings in the care of other relatives. Shadia Nandawula
Shadia Nandawula is 6 years old and is in Grade 1. Her favorite color is white, and her favorite foods are rice and chicken. Literacy is her strongest subject, and she dreams of becoming a teacher after completing her studies.
She, along with her siblings Hadad Matovu and JulietNabbata, joined Timothy Home from Kyotera. Both of their parents are very ill, suffering from chronic HIV/AIDS. As a result, the three children face challenges in accessing food, clothing, medical care, and education.There is a possibility that their parents may be sent to distant family members for care, leaving Juliet in the care of the family. To ensure proper support, the three children were brought to Timothy Home by a community social worker for further assistance and management.

John Mirembe
John Mirembe is 9 years old and is currently enrolled in Nursery school. His early childhood has been marked by significant hardship. His mother is living with a mental illness and is HIV positive, circumstances that have greatly affected the stability of his upbringing. For a time, John and his mother resided with his maternal aunt. However, his aunt later entrusted him to a friend who claimed she would care for him. Unfortunately, this arrangement proved harmful, as John was neglected, mistreated, and frequently denied adequate food. As a result, he became severely malnourished and required hospitalization in a government facility, where he received treatment for approximately one year.
Following his recovery, he was unable to return to his aunt’s home, as her husband was unwilling to have him live with them again.
Despite these challenges, John remains a bright and resilient child. His favorite subject is Drawing, and he especially loves the color yellow. In the future, he aspires to become a mechanic.

Sheenah Nangozi
Sheenah Nangonzi is 13 years old and currently in Grade 6. She is a total orphan, having lost both of her parents at a young age. After their passing, Sheenah lived with her paternal grandparents, where she experienced mistreatment. She was later taken in by her maternal grandparents, who are also elderly and have limited capacity to provide adequate care and support. As a result, she requires foster care and consistent educational support to ensure her well-being and future stability.
Despite these challenges, Sheenah remains hopeful and dedicated to her studies. Her favorite subject is English, and she particularly loves the color yellow. Her favorite meal is sweet potatoes. She aspires to become a doctor in the future. Her favorite meal is sweet potatoes.

Victor Kato
Victor Kato is 8 years old and is in Grade 2.
Victor’s parents divorced. His mother is mentally ill and its believed this led to the death of his twin brother. Getting a daily meal was a miracle and his mom could not be able to provide clothing, medical care, and education.
To ensure proper support,he was brought to Timothy Home by the department of Child protection unit and family affairs through Uganda Police for further assistance. His favorite color is red, and his favorite food is rice. Maths is his strongest subject, and he dreams of becoming a doctor after completing his studies.
